The students in Mrs. Paige Geddes’ fourth grade class at Merriwether Elementary are working on input and output during small group math time. They are using the Algebraic Thinking box set that was purchased with grant funds received from the Foundation for Public Schools in Edgefield County. The set includes four learning games that four students may work through together. “We know hands-on learning is one of the best ways for students to fully understand a topic. When students fully grasp skills taught, they are able to transfer those skills to other areas in and out of a school setting,” said an excited Mrs. Geddes. “We are thankful for the Foundation’s hard work to help the students in Edgefield County,” Geddes continued.
