The students and teachers at Merriwether Elementary had a blast at Wacky Science Night. Each grade level set up different wacky science experiments in classrooms. The teachers dressed as mad scientists and the students wore all sorts of cool costumes. There was Frankenstein slime, exploding pumpkins, and other neat hands-on experiments for our students and MES families. Each science experiment was tied to one of our South Carolina State Standards.

"This is an event I look forward to every year," smiled third grade teacher Debbie Lambert. "Our faculty comes together to put on a great event for our students and families. The students do not even realize they are learning while participating in these wacky experiments," Lambert continued.

"It's neat to see our children learning alongside their parents," exclaimed Principal Bruce Lee. "Curiosity and risk-taking are two transfer goals our community and school district have identified as being important transfer goals for our students. Wacky Science Night provides a fun way for our students to be curious and take risks... while also learning more about science," Lee continued.
